Backyard Dinner Table

End of Summer dinner party.  Set up a cluster of tables outdoors using a simple taupe linen.  Fresh flowers are a must.  We chose deep colored flowers with added greenery and leaves to invoke the feeling of Fall.  Nobody does these better than my favorite florist – Mark’s Garden.  Clusters of multi-colored votives in deep fall colors like purple, orange and deep yellow mixed with mercury glass are a simple addition.  I picked these up at Cost Plus World Market.  To give our outdoor tables the light we needed, we used simple ivory chunky candles in several different heights set in clear glass containers.  We didn’t buy these containers though…they’re all old recycled floral vases!  (Keep those plain containers your flowers come in!).  Even the clear water glasses pick up and distribute the light.  Simple entertaining.
