A walk through of the Brill Construction zone was quite exciting today BECAUSE…. There are walls. We are finally able to see the spaces coming to life and shaping up. Ok, so it’s still early yes. But there are walls. And that is great progress. And I can probably stop calling it a construction zone now that there are walls. I’ve chosen 3 paint colors to have sampled so the homeowners can see which they like best. They can look at them in different light, choose and later this week, we’ll have our first glimpse of color on these new walls.
We toured around to each room a bit just to be certain everything we’ve discussed is on track. I discovered I’ll need another light fixture for the guest bathroom – check. We need to start designing the closet organization for the walk in closet – check. Time to get my draper on board – he can start work on the drapery and roman shades that are going throughout the house. I was very excited to see that the tile was going up in the shower in the Master Bath. This is, by the way, the same tile they will lay on the floor. To give a little variation to the walls I asked that the tile be cut in half and put up horizontally with little to no grout line. I didn’t want it to look like we just had left over flooring and oh look it runs right up the wall. So I changed it up just a bit. The client had already purchased this tile when I was brought on board the project. Every once in a while, that is a really tough thing to work around. Not this time. I took inspiration from some fantastic hotel bathrooms I’ve encountered while traveling and came up with a plan to make it work so the floor and the walls could be the same…but different. Everyone is happy so far and we’re making progress!
